The Colonies at Williamsburg is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Please call the resort at 757.903.2000 to notify the staff of late arrivals. In addition, there is evening and overnight security throughout the resort property daily from 8:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
Yes. If you arrive at The Colonies at Williamsburg earlier and your assigned suite is available, we will be more than happy to check you in early. If unavailable, we kindly ask that you return at the regular check-in time of 4:00 PM.
To request a later check-out time, please contact the front desk on the day of your departure. We will do our best to accommodate your request based on resort occupancy.
The minimum age to check in is 21.
A picture ID, a major credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover), or a $150.00 cash security deposit, and your confirmation/hotel voucher are required at check-in time.
A security deposit made on a major credit card will be released within 48 business hours of check-out. All cash deposits require a physical inspection of the suite after all guests have vacated. Please allow 15 to 20 minutes to have the suite inspected. If using a debit card, depending on your banking institution, the hold may take between 7 to 14 business days to be released.
Yes. A non-refundable $30.00 plus tax resort fee is collected at the time of check-in (one fee per reservation) for exchangers. A $10.00 plus tax per night resort fee is collected for renters. It includes WIFI, access to the fitness center and business center, DVD library, coffee/tea in the clubhouse, and use of an in-room safe.
There is also a refundable security deposit of $150.00 placed as a hold on a credit card for any damages or excessive cleaning required in the suite. Upon check-out, that security deposit is returned to the credit card. If you use a debit card for the security deposit, it may take up to 14 business days after the hold has been released to show up on your bank statement.
The Colonies at Williamsburg features 28 buildings with 300 one- and two-bedroom suites that can be combined to make two- or four-bedroom suites. The low-rise buildings vary between two and three floors and have no elevators.
Yes. Call the resort at 757.903.2000 to submit any special requests (room views, floor level, building location, etc.) you may have for your upcoming stay. We accept requests as early as two weeks before the check-in date.
Accommodations are based on a first-come, first-served basis. Priority is given to The Colonies at Williamsburg owners, followed by Exchangers, but we will make every effort to honor all special requests based on availability.
Yes. You may upgrade from a two-bedroom suite to a four-bedroom suite or a one-bedroom suite to a two-bedroom suite. Upgrades are based on availability, and fees apply. Call the resort at 757.903.2000 for more information.
Yes. The Colonies at Williamsburg has designated suites that meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements. Please advise the staff of your needs when making a reservation so we can verify availability before confirming your reservation.
Yes. The Colonies at Williamsburg offers free parking for our owners and guests. In addition, there is evening and overnight security throughout the resort property daily from 8:00 PM to 7:00 AM. During peak season, parking can be limited. We have a centrally located overflow parking area to assist during these times.
No. Parking of recreational vehicles/equipment is not permitted at The Colonies at Williamsburg. Please contact the resort at 757.903.2000 for recommendations on available, approved parking.
Yes. Electric vehicle charging stations are located in the overflow parking lot near the tennis courts.
Yes. At The Colonies at Williamsburg, we understand that pets are an extension of your family. We are one of the few resorts in the area that offer a limited number of pet-friendly suites near the walking areas in a particular area of the resort. A non-refundable pet fee of $125.00 (per pet) is due at check-in, and availability is on a first-come, first-served basis. Only non-aggressive breeds are allowed on resort premises, with a maximum of two pets. YOU MUST CALL 757.903.2000 IN ADVANCE TO RESERVE PET-FRIENDLY ACCOMMODATIONS. Guests traveling on a promotion are not eligible to book a pet-friendly suite.
Yes, The Colonies at Williamsburg will accept packages for owners and guests free of charge. However, the resort is not responsible for the safekeeping of packages. Packages must arrive during the guest’s reservation dates. Packages must include the registered guest’s name, and a photo ID is required for pick-up.
Yes. WiFi is included in the resort fee.
No. Housekeeping services are not included, but if you would like to request a mid-week cleaning service at an additional charge, please contact our front desk for availability during your stay. A mid-week cleaning includes beds being made with fresh linens, removing trash and replacing liners, exchanging all bath and kitchen linens, and vacuuming. In addition, guests are asked to dispose of trash in several conveniently located sites on the property.
Towel or linen exchange may also be arranged for a fee. Please contact the front desk directly if you would like this service. A minimum $75.00 fine is applicable for suites left excessively unclean.
No. The Colonies at Williamsburg is a smoke-free resort. Smoking outside is permitted except for the pool deck. The Colonies at Williamsburg does not provide guests with designated smoking areas.
Yes. Rollaway beds, cribs, and highchairs are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Guests must request these items at check-in as they cannot be reserved in advance. Charges may apply.
Yes. Please visit the Concierge Desk in the clubhouse for all available offers for discounted theme park tickets and local attractions.
Richmond International Airport (RIC) is approximately 45 minutes from The Colonies at Williamsburg.
No. The Colonies at Williamsburg does not offer shuttle transportation to or from the airport. We recommend a rental car, taxi, or ridesharing apps like Uber or Lyft.

Yes. The Colonies at Williamsburg has one heated indoor swimming pool inside the clubhouse and one outdoor swimming pool (not heated) with numerous water features for the kids behind the clubhouse.
Poolside lounge chairs are available to our owners and guests on a first-come, first-served basis. Pool towels are available at each pool. The resort reserves the right to remove towels and personal belongings on chairs left unattended for an extended period.
For your safety as well as the safety of others, please be sure to read the pool rules and regulations located in the pool area, near the restrooms, or on the gate leading into the pool.
The Colonies at Williamsburg has one heated indoor swimming pool inside the clubhouse and one outdoor swimming pool (not heated) with numerous water features for the kids behind the clubhouse.
The indoor and outdoor pools are open from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Adults-only swimming is from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. The outdoor pool is open seasonally from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
Yes. One outdoor hot tub is located on the outdoor pool deck and is open year-round.
No. The Colonies at Williamsburg doesn’t have a children’s pool, but the outdoor swimming pool has numerous water features for the kids.

Yes. The Colonies at Williamsburg has an arcade/game room with vending machines in the Activity Center next to the front desk in the clubhouse.
There is a basketball hoop available behind the outdoor pool at the clubhouse. Basketballs can be picked up in the Activity Center or at the Front Desk between the hours of 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM.
The tennis courts at The Colonies at Williamsburg are located behind the outdoor pool and Clubhouse. Equipment may be signed out in the Activity Center or at the Front Desk between the hours of 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM.
No. The Colonies at Williamsburg does not have a restaurant on-site; however, there are a variety of restaurants in the surrounding area.
Yes. The Colonies at Williamsburg has charcoal grills and picnic tables around the buildings. Utensils are inside the suites. The resort does not provide charcoal.
In addition, there are two gas barbecue grills available on the outdoor pool deck. They are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Yes. The Colonies at Williamsburg has a fitness center equipped with treadmills and weight training machines in the clubhouse. It’s open daily from 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM.

The suites at The Colonies at Williamsburg offer our owners and guests spacious one-, two-, and four-bedroom floor plans designed for maximum comfort. Each suite's living room, dining room, and kitchen are integrated for entertaining and enjoyment. All suites have carpet in the living areas and bedrooms, and the kitchen and bathrooms have tile.
No. The Colonies at Williamsburg offers four-bedroom suites, which are two two-bedroom suites. That means you would have a combined total of 2,400 square feet with two living rooms, two dining rooms, four bedrooms (two primary bedrooms and two guest bedrooms), and four bathrooms (two in each two-bedroom suite).
In July 2018, The Colonies at Williamsburg began offering two-bedroom lockoff suites and two one-bedroom suites. The two-bedroom lockoff suites offer two living rooms, two dining rooms, two bedrooms, and two bathrooms.
The one-bedroom suite can accommodate up to four people, which includes two individuals sleeping on a queen-size sleeper sofa. The two-bedroom suite can sleep up to six people. There's a king-size bed in the primary bedroom, a queen-size bed in the second bedroom, and a queen-size sleeper sofa in the living room. The four-bedroom suite can accommodate up to 12 people. It consists of two two-bedroom suites adjoining a shared hallway with a lockoff. They have two king-size beds (one in each primary bedroom), two queen-size beds (one in each guest bedroom), and two queen-size sleeper sofas (one in each living room).
Yes. Each suite at The Colonies at Williamsburg has a private patio or balcony with a table and chairs.
All suites feature fully-appointed kitchens with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances, including a stove/oven, dishwasher, full-size refrigerator with ice maker, microwave convection oven, drip coffee maker (a starter pack of filters is provided), toaster, and blender.
Most commonly used cookware, such as dishes, pots, and pans, are included in each suite. There is dinnerware for four in each one-bedroom suite, dinnerware for six in the two-bedroom suites, and dinnerware for twelve in the four-bedroom suites.
Each suite at The Colonies at Williamsburg features televisions in the living room and bedrooms, cable television with HBO®, a DVD player in the living room, and WiFi internet access.
Yes. The one-bedroom suite features a king-size bed in the primary bedroom and a queen-size sofa bed in the living room. The two-bedroom suite has a king-size bed in the primary bedroom, a queen-size bed in the guest bedroom, and a queen-size sleeper sofa in the living room.
The four-bedroom suites have two king-size beds (one in each primary bedroom), two queen-size beds (one in each guest bedroom), and two queen-size sleeper sofas (one in each living room).
The one-bedroom suites feature an oversized, walk-in tiled shower and a standard tub in the primary bathroom. The two-bedroom suites have an enclosed, oversized walk-in shower, a vanity area with a magnified mirror in the primary bathroom, and a tub/shower in the guest bathroom. In addition, all bathrooms are equipped with a hair dryer.
Yes. There is a wall-mounted hair dryer in each bathroom.
Yes. The Colonies at Williamsburg provides guests with a small starter kit in their room, which includes a sample-size shampoo, conditioner, and bar soap. However, we recommend that you bring your own toiletries.
No. Shared washers and dryers are conveniently located in the common hallway between the A and B Suites on each floor and are available at no cost. Select suites have a stackable washer and dryer; this includes all one-bedroom suites.
Yes. Each suite has an iron and ironing board.
